Encaustic and recycled fabric ribbon on cradled birch panel.
These paintings were inspired by the tangled piles of pointe shoe ribbons I had in my younger years. For each new pair of shoes, I would have to sew the ribbons on myself, matching the ribbons to the various colors of shoes which ranged from peach to pink.
