The quest to choose objects to memorialize in a still life painting can be complicated. As an artist, I wanted to paint objects that are meaningful to me, but it was ALSO important that they were something that you could relate to.

As a child you just worry about so much less and you see the world through such different eyes, and it has been really nice to reconnect with different elements of that, and remember the things that I used to do that brought me so much joy.
