About JL Scheppers Art

Do you like to surround yourself with colorful, playful art?

Do you sometimes find yourself wishing you could WEAR your art?

Do you wish your jewelry was as vibrant as your mood? (Or your mood as vibrant as your jewelry?)

Yeah, me too! I'm Jamie Scheppers and I create encaustic paintings and wearable art (in the form of watercolor jewelry) for women who want to add more fun and joy to their daily life.

A few years ago, I was NOT living my best life! Mentally drained at the end of the workday, I’d drive home, let my dog out and then pour myself into a pair of yoga pants, and park myself on the floor. Under the glow of Netflix, I would lean against my couch and start mindlessly doodling. Dinner was either overpriced food delivery, a frozen meal, or a massive pile of cheese and crackers. I’d once loved cooking so much that I moved to NYC to attend culinary school, but that version of me was nowhere to be found.

Thankfully, I was able to crawl out of the dark hole I'd burrowed into, and I found my way back to my artistic expression and the joy that it brings.

In late 2020 (a year that shall live in infamy), I made my first pieces of jewelry and gave them out as gifts. Seeing my friends and family’s faces light up when they found out I had MADE the jewelry lit a spark in me. I decided that Christmas to see how far my creativity could take me, and I started a business to sell my newly-imagined jewelry as well as the encaustic paintings that I'd been painting since 2016. It was a real turning point for me, as I was ready to stop being just the “fun police” at my family's company and start HAVING FUN by using my creativity and other hard-earned skills to build a business that was uniquely my own.

Now that I’ve been selling my colorful creations for a couple years, my mission has evolved from helping myself with my art, to helping YOU. I want to inspire joy and a deep sense of emotional peace. Whether it's a textured encaustic painting for your bathroom that you gaze into while relaxing in a quiet bath, or a colorful pair of watercolor earrings you wear to bring joy into your daily routines, art reminds us that there's more to life than people pleasing and fitting the basic mold of "adulthood."

We can be playful or a bit silly AND  be worthy of respect and admiration!

We can show up imperfectly in a T-shirt and jeans with a messy bun and comfy shoes AND be beautiful and accomplished!

We can struggle to deal with pressure and stress AND deserve joy and peace!

If that resonates with you, then its time to start building your own collection of colorful earringsnecklaces, and bracelets. I say start with the rainbow collection and build from there! And if you need to brighten a room, a painting may be calling your name. Make sure you also join the VIP list so you don't miss out on new releases!

Cheers!
